Uncovered Visitor and Trix’s 250th Eastwick Press Picture
This large American Toad (Bufo americanus) posed last week in a Petersburgh yard when discovered under a wood pile.

They are usually nocturnal and will hide during the daytime like this one was doing before disturbed. American Toads live mostly in the northeastern U.S. and parts of Canada. The male sound is a trill lasting up to 30 seconds used to attract females.
Editors Note: Last week’s photo by Trix was her 250th to be published by The Eastwick Press. Congratulations Trix and we look forward to 250 more.
