American Beetle
This Banded Net-winged Beetle (Calopteron reticulatum) was found in a Petersburgh yard. These colorful beetles reside in the eastern and central United States.
Scientists say their wings are brittle and rupture easily releasing chemicals making them distasteful to predators.
