School Is In Session

by Doug La Rocque

All of the schools in The Eastwick Press coverage area opened their doors to students and staff late last week. In Berlin, the new bus routing took effect, with the afternoon runs now combining both the elementary and secondary schools.

Berlin Central School District’s students and staff have been busy with orientations, staff development, learning new routines and kicking off the 2019-2020 school year. Find announcements and posts about the school’s activities and important events in the Eastwick Press, on the BCSD website and Facebook page throughout the year. Photos by Rachel Turetsky.

The Eastwick Press received reports of some problems, such as one student not being picked up on Thursday morning, and another of a bus running very late.

Karen Capozzi, the District’s Business Manager who also heads up transportation, said, “overall, the first days of school seem to have gone fairly well, with each school having staff and faculty greet their returning students in their own unique way.”

The collage of photos here captures some of the opening day’s more picturesque moments at the Berlin Middle/High School.
