Berlin Elementary School

News Anchor And Author John Gray Stops By

Submitted by Rachel Turestky

Students at Berlin Elementary were treated to a reading of Keller’s Heart by the book’s author, John Gray. Mr. Gray, also a local news anchor, shared the story of how he was inspired by his rescue dog Keller. Keller, who is blind and deaf, has taught Gray and his family so much about how one’s disability does not define them and rather an individual’s heart shines brighter than anything else.

After the read aloud students were given an opportunity for questions. Mr. Gray also took time to sign copies of his book.

Keller is a local celebrity as well and can be found around the Capital Region. His activities can be followed and found on his Facebook page.

“If you ever see Keller out and about let me know you are from Berlin Elementary and I will make sure to let you meet him.” said Mr. Gray.
