Senior Ryan Bloomer and Junior Mat Smith represented the Hoosick Falls Golf team in the second round of the Section 2 State Qualifier Tournament at Orchard Creek Golf Club on Monday. Along with 18 other golfers from Section 2, the two battled tougher conditions after a weekend filled with rain and multiple delays.
In the end, both Panther golfers finished in the top 9, Ryan tied for 3rd and Matt finished tied for 7th, securing their place on this year’s Section 2 state team for the boys’ state tournament in June.
They will now have to wait until other sections around the state play their spring seasons to complete the field for the state tournament in the spring. This year’s tournament will take place at the Mark Twain Golf Course in Elmira, NY.
