The Birds Are Back Home

Grafton

Since shortly after the fire in August at the Berkshire Bird Paradise (BBP), a number of the parrots, cockatoos and such, have called the Roxborough Holdings building (former Grafton Elementary School) home.  With the Parrot House now restored, Friday, October 18 was moving day, as the birds were transported back home to rejoin their other feathered friends in their new digs.

On Tuesday, October 22, Rensselaer County District 5 legislators Jeff Wysocki and Bruce Patire stopped by to get a look for themselves, and presented BBP with a check from the legislature for $250. Both lawmakers were impressed with what they saw and the mission of BBP.

The donation will add to the many thousands of dollars contributed at the recent fundraiser, and the monies that came in from a Facebook account as well. These funds are paying for the fire restoration services and other needed improvements to the facility.
