Accident Results In DWI Arrest

By Steve Bradley

A driver and vehicle traveling up Wilder Avenue at 4:45 Sunday morning in Hoosick Falls went across the street and about halfway up the lower hill, where it hit a parked car. The impact of the crash knocked the unoccupied parked car out of gear and it began rolling down the hill.

National Grid workers spent Sunday morning repairing a telephone pole knocked over by a car that rolled down Wilder Avenue in Hoosick Falls. Photo by Steve Bradley.

Gradually moving to the left, the vehicle eventually hit a pole across the street from the Rite Aid parking lot. It was a bit of luck because if it had continued another 80 feet it would have hit the door of the police station.

Hoosick Falls Police arrested 33-year old Edward Bouplon of Ball Street in the Village, charging him with Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Keep Right.

There were some reported interruption of both power and phone service during the repairs.
