The next Hoosick Falls Community Participation Work Group (CPWG) meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, from 6-8 pm at the Hoosick Falls High School in the cafeteria. CPWG meetings are open to the public.
The CPWG serves as a liaison for the community with state agencies involved in the remediation of Hoosick Falls contaminated sites. Its monthly meetings provide an opportunity for the greater Hoosick Falls community to hear progress reports on PFOA remedial activity and options being explored for a municipal water supply.
The Hoosick area Superfund sites include Saint-Gobain-McCaffrey Street; former Oak Materials-John Street; Saint-Gobain-Liberty Street; Hoosick Falls Landfill; and Alexander Schmigel Property. Investigative work is also being performed at potential Superfund sites, or “P” sites, which include Oak Materials-River Road; Interface Solutions; Former Dodge Machine; and Allied-Signal Laminate Systems-Mechanic Street.
