Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Route 7 Crash
By Steve Bradley
A man traveling west on Route 7 about one-half mile west of the Pittstown Sunoco station was injured when the vehicle he was driving drifted off the north side of the road, hit a tree and spun around into a five feet deep narrow depression. It was a difficult location for responders to access.
The man’s legs were trapped under the dashboard and extricating him proved to be a difficult task. Pittstown Fire and Rescue squads worked as quickly as possible.

The man had fractures to his lower leg and feet and was bleeding heavily. The victim was freed after 30 minutes and placed in the rescue squad. He was transported to a waiting helicopter and flown to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The New York State Police and Center Brunswick Fire Department also responded to the scene.
