Portray The Pierce FamilyAt The Turn of The Century
On Friday, October 18, the Louis Miller Museum in Hoosick Falls formally accepted the 28 diaries that belonged to the Pierce Family of Hoosick.
Some of the diaries were originally purchased at the Wilmington, VT Flea Market by Mr. Carl Bonn from Germany about 3-4 years ago. Mr. Bonn took them back to Germany where he taught English in a German School.

Mr. Bonn felt they needed to come back to their home town as he stated in an email – “As far a I am concerned, the diaries are quite a major discovery to Americana in general and American History in particular.”
These diaries date 1890-1914 and were written by Frank, Roscoe and Orson Pierce. They tell of life changing events like the death of their mother and wife, to uneventful days at school and work.
They can be viewed at the museum at 166 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.
