BES Student Ambassador Election

After a successful pilot year last school year the Student Ambassador Program at Berlin Elementary has really taken shape. Ambassador advisors, Mrs. Peter-Hoen and Mrs. Ruebel have expanded the program and created Ambassador Officers and held a schoolwide election this past week.
The purpose of the BES Student Ambassadors is to lead others in building a school community that is committed to helping make a difference in the lives of others. Good leaders have compassion, show respect, demonstrate responsibility, work with others as a team and take initiative. Most importantly, student ambassadors are role models for Berlin Elementary students.
On November 12, following a week of poster hanging and buzz about the candidates, students running for the offices of President and Vice President presented their platforms. Zeke Colin, Isabella Ovitt, Madison Rontey, Clair Schaaphok, Elliot Smith and Rachel Smith, gave excellent speeches to the 2nd – 5th grade assembly audience.
The results after the schoolwide vote were as follows: President Isabella Ovitt, Vice President Rachel Smith and Secretary Elliot Smith.
It was a very close race. Mrs. Ruebel and Mrs. Peter-Hoen would like to thank everyone who took the time and put forth the effort to run in the first BES Ambassador Election! They also would like to encourage students who did not win the office they ran for still to join as Classroom Representative.
