Municipal Water Supply Comment Period Extended
The Hoosick Falls Community Participation Work Group (CPWG) wants to remind the community that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s public comment period for the Municipal Water Supply Study for the Village of Hoosick Falls has been extended.
The NYSDEC is now accepting feedback through close of business Tuesday, December 3. Comments should be sent to HoosickWaterSupply@dec.ny.gov.
The study can be found on the NYSDEC website at www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/108791.html – water.

The CPWG serves as a liaison for the community with state agencies involved in the remediation of Hoosick Falls contaminated sites. Its monthly meetings provide an opportunity for the greater Hoosick Falls community to hear progress reports on PFOA remedial activity and options being explored for municipal water supply.
The Hoosick area Superfund sites include Saint-Gobain-McCaffrey Street; former Oak Materials-John Street; Saint-Gobain-Liberty Street; Hoosick Falls Landfill; and Alexander Schmigel Property. Investigative work is also being performed at potential Superfund sites or “P” sites, which include Oak Materials-River Road; Interface Solutions; former Dodge International Machine; and Allied-Signal Laminate Systems-Mechanic Street.
