Kicking Off The Victorian Stroll
New Website, Poster And Collectable Ornament Are Unveiled
City and County officials, as well as members of the business community gathered at Franklin Plaza in Troy on Wednesday, November 6, to help the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce start the countdown to the 37th Annual Victorian Stroll. The event is one of the largest attractions in the city and county, drawing thousands of people to the event every year to enjoy a wide variety of vendors, live entertainment and the hundreds of people dressed up in the attire of the era.

New this year is a website for the Stroll, built and designed by Troy Web Consulting. According to Chamber President Kate Manley, the new victorianstroll.com is meant to simplify the user’s experience sorting through the wide variety of entertainment, attractions and dining options.
The event also unveiled this year’s Victorian Stroll poster, designed by commercial illustrator Randy Rumpf of Rensselaer. The poster depicts the rich Victorian architecture than can be found throughout Downtown Troy.
Returning this year is the tradition of the pewter Victorian Stroll ornament. Created by Triple-A-Designs, the new ornament features a hummingbird, paying homage to John Bloom and the JK Bloom Jewelry Store, responsible for the ornaments for many years. Hummingbird was the original name of Mr. Bloom’s store.
The Stroll is held each year throughout downtown Troy on the second Sunday after Thanksgiving, this year on December 8. The events run from 11 am to 5 pm.
