Santa Makes An Early Stop
By Doug La Rocque
All the children in Grafton must be good boys and girls, because Santa and Mrs. Claus always make it a point to come to town early every year to visit with one and all and catch a bit of breakfast at the monthly Grafton Fire Department and Auxiliary Breakfast. This year was no different, as the jolly ole elf was once again listening to the kids’ Christmas wish lists.
While there was no sign of Rudolph or the other reindeer, Santa said they were not far away, otherwise, how would he have made it to Grafton from the North Pole.

He was in town but a mere three hours before he said he had to return home. After all, he is a very busy man this time of year, and Rudolph and friends wanted to get back to play some reindeer games.
Just as Santa left the Fire Hall, many people reported hearing a twinkling type noise and a sound like tiny little hoofs on the roof. I for one, also know I heard some say in a distant voice, “I’ll be back on Christmas eve.”
We’ll be waiting, Santa.
