Village Police Arrest Local Man On A Pair Of Charges
Hoosick Falls Police arrested Jacob Burdick on Sunday, January 19, after he failed to appear in Village Court on a Contempt of Court charge, stemming from violating an Order of Protection. A warrant for his arrest was issued at that time.
According to Police Chief Bob Ashe, he is alleged to have continued to contact the protected party, making threats against her welfare. Additional charges of violating the Order of Protection are expected to be filed.
Mr. Burdick was arraigned in front of Village Court Justice Thomas Restino Jr. and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. Mr. Burdick is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, January 23.
