Mayor Bogle Seeks State Senate Seat
Submitted by Mayor Carman Bogle
Three-term Cambridge Village Mayor Carman Bogle announced on Monday, February 3, that she will seek the Republican nomination for the 45th State Senate seat, currently held by long-time Senator Betty Little, who is retiring at the end of the year. The district includes all of Washington County, including the towns of White Creek, Cambridge and Easton and stretches north to the Canadian border.

In her release, Mayor Bogle says “rural communities in New York face real challenges and it is time to address those issues, not just play party politics and focus on sensationalism.” Ms. Bogle also said “until we rise above the rhetoric and work together, we achieve nothing but the status quo.” Active with the youth in her community, the Mayor’s release also said she has led initiatives to fight the opiate epidemic, support clean energy and modernization for the Cam- bridge Fire Department. Ms. Bogle indicates she has also seen first-hand the impact of unfunded mandates from Albany on smaller localities.
The Senate hopeful currently works as a constituent liaison for Assemblyman Jake Ashby.
Assemblyman Dan Stec of Elizabethtown has also announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination.
