Black Belt Promotions In Stephentown

Sensei Bob Fish of the Stephentown Self Defense systems says he was recently honored and privileged to promote five people to various degrees of Black Belt.

Bruce Lee once said that there are no limits – there are only plateaus and you must not stay there – you must go beyond them through hard work, commitment, discipline and perseverance.

The recent promotes pictured from left to right are: Sensei Fish, Peter Nasman, Katherine Court Rice, Cassandra Beattie, Christine Beattie, Micah Nasman. Photo provided

That is what these students have done. Though they have learned much their journey is not complete. It is a new beginning at another level with more challenges to face and obstacles to overcome.

John Izzo’s Okinawan Karate Association, Green Island Academy of Martial Arts, Stephentown Self Defense Systems and Bassallo’s School of Marial Arts wish to recognize the accomplishments of the following people:

Katherine Court Rice 4th Degree Black Belt

Cassandra Beattie 3rd Degree Black Belt

Christine Beattie 3rd Degree Black Belt

Micah J. Nasman 1st Degree Black Belt

Peter Nasman 1st Degree Black Belt.

Sensei Fish would like to thank the Board of Black Belts who assisted during the testing and promotion of these students, his wife Jeanne Fish who provided and served refreshments, the Stephentown Youth Commission and the Town Board for their continued support and all who have contributed in some small way to make our karate studio a success.
