Celebrating The Chinese New Year

Programs At The Library

Viking Wire Knitting Class-Session 1

Saturday, February 29 at 11 am

Viking knit is an ancient form of circular wire weaving also known as the trichinopoly chain.  The term chain is misleading because there are no separate links. The chain is formed with a length of successively looped wire resulting in a long tube which is then stretched.

Adults and children of all ages gathered at the Stephentown Memorial Library on Friday, February 21, to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Here some of the young visitors are busy making keepsakes to take home with them. Photo provided.

Learn this ancient technique for free at the Stephentown Library. This is Session 1 of a three-month series. Start a project, bring it home to work on it, then bring it back for Session 2. Heather will go over more techniques and finishing techniques in Session 3. Please go online or call the library to register.
