50 Years Of Service To the Berlin FD and Auxiliary

The Berlin Fire Department and Auxiliary celebrated 116 years of existence with its annual installation banquet on Saturday, February 29 at the Fire Hall. Besides the swearing in of all officers, the department took time to honor Tena Harrington for her 50 years of service.

A 50-year plaque was presented to her by Chief Stan Pettibone II, and she received proclamations from Assemblyman Jake Ashby, as well as representatives of Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin and State Senator Daphne Jordan.
Ms Harrington remains very active holding the positions of a Corporate Director and the Treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary.
Installed as Firematic Officers were:
Chief – Stan Pettibone II
Assistant Chief – Davey Shuhart
Captain – Alan Kennedy
Lieutenant Co. 1 – Samantha Gale
Lieutenant Co. 2 – Charlie Osterhout
Lieutenant Co. 3 – Tyler Hake
Lieutenant Co. 4 – Joseph Sweener
Safety Officer – Billy Osterhout
Other officers installed were Corporate President Stan Pettibone II, Fire Department President Joseph Sweener, Ladies Auxiliary President Debby Maxon and Board of Commissioners Chairman Bruce Hake Jr.
The banquet was served buffet style by Cariddi Catering, with music provided by DJs Ann and Dan Schnoop.
