Police Make Two Arrests
Arson Arrest
On Saturday March 14, at about 6 am, the Hoosick Falls Police Department, along with the Hoosick Falls Fire Department, responded to a reported structure fire at 152 Main Street.

The structure, an abandoned building that once housed the Wedding Tree Shop, built in the early 1900s, was fully involved. Departments from Hoosick, West Hoosick, North Hoosick, Johnsonville, Buskirk, Pittstown, White Creek, Speigletown and Bennington, responded along with the town of Hoosick Rescue Squad.
A joint investigation between the Hoosick Falls Police Department and the Rensselaer County Emergency Service Cause and Origin team determined that the fire was intentionally set. As a result of this investigation Hoosick Falls Police arrested 23 year old Nicholas Perry of Eagle Bridge and charged him with one count of Arson 3rd and one count of Burglary 3rd. He was issued an appearance ticket to reappear in Village Court.
Felony Assault Arrest
Hoosick Falls Police Department investigated an assault that occurred in the early morning hours Saturday March 14, at a residence on Church Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls.

The victim was struck in the face causing serious damage to the eye. He was transported by family members to Samaritan Hospital in Troy and later transferred to Albany Medical Center. He has since been released. Arrested and charged with Felony Assault 2nd was William Dooley age 34 of Elm Street Hoosick Falls. He was released to reappear at Village Court at a later date.
