Driving along our main roads and side streets, one can notice rainbow creations hung on home windows, drawn on outdoor fences, and proudly displayed at area businesses. But what does the rainbow symbolize now during tumultuous times? Positivity and hope.

“518 Rainbow Hunt: Spreading Rainbows Worldwide” is an online group created on Facebook to spread positivity and hope for all during the Coronavirus pandemic. It’s mission, according to their Facebook page, is to provide “a great fun way to be with family, get outdoors, and be socially distant during the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak.”
Many of these colorful displays can be seen throughout Rensselaer County and other locations within the Capital Region. Some spots where you can view these messages of hope include Parti Events and Banquet Hall in Troy, and a local residence along Grafton’s Roxborough Road, among others.
If you have a rainbow that you created, be sure to share it on the group’s Facebook page. Continue to spread the positivity and hope that we all need to stay strong, healthy, and safe during this pandemic.
