Tamarac High School Happiness Drive Thru

by Amy Modesti

Bengal Proud and Tamarac Strong. Perhaps that is the best way to describe the overwhelming love, support, and camaraderie that flowed outside Saturday morning, April 11. It was the day of the Tamarac High School Happiness Drive Thru where students and families drove through the school parking lot to express their thanks and give Easter greetings to teachers, staff, bus drivers and town officials, including Brunswick Town Supervisor Phil Herrington.

While practicing social distancing, school officials, students and families expressed their admiration, support and positivity through home-made signage showing off their Bengal pride. 518 Rainbow Hunt impressions hung on the front and back of vehicles that gave positive words of encouragement. In addition to the reverse parade, special appearances were made by the Easter Bunny and Benny the Bengal Tiger, who waved to ongoing drivers along the parade route.

To witness the love and dedication that was felt by all who took part in this was beautiful and emotional. It made you feel proud to be a Tamarac alumnus. Thank you to the Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District for putting on Saturday’s event and for what you do to educate our town’s children.

Editors Note: This was for Amy a moving moment, as she is indeed a proud Tamarac alumni.
