Quick Response Is Quick To Step Up
By Doug La Rocque
On Sunday, April 12, The Brunswick #1 firehouse on Hoosick Road was visited by several people in white jump suits and green packs on their backs. It was not an invasion from Mars, or any other outer space sphere for that matter, but employees of Quick Response Restoration in Round Lake, there to decontaminate the department’s vehicles, equipment and firehouse itself. It is part of the company’s effort to use its expertise to help out first responders who face the threat of COVID-19 each time they are called out.

Brunswick #1 is not the only firehouse they have visited in the area. A short distance along Hoosick Road, they have also worked to decontaminate the Center Brunswick department, as well as the Eagle Mills firehouse, all in the town of Brunswick. Previously, there were visits to Hoosick Falls, where not only the fire department, but the rescue squad and police department were cleaned of any germs as well, likewise those in the city of Troy.
According to company CEO Vince Laurenzo Jr., they do not charge for these services. He tells The Eastwick Press “it’s a way they can give back and say thanks to all these first responders, who are willing to put it all on the line.”
Their contribution to the fight against the virus doesn’t stop there. Every Monday from 12 to 5 pm, they set up shop at Troy’s Knickerbacker Arena on 103rd Street, to clean the vehicles of first responders, again at no charge. Quick Response is actually performing this service five days a week, at various locations throughout the Capital Region.
From all of us in Rensselaer County, thank you Quick Response.
