July 4th, 2020 Parade: “The Roaring 20s”

Submitted by Jan Firszt

Part of getting back to normal is planning for upcoming events. At this point we are all looking forward to our annual parade, “The Roaring 20s” being the theme. The safety and health of both the participants and obviously all the great folks that have made this an intricate part of their July 4th celebration is our primary concern.

A look back at some of the musical entertainment at last year’s 4th of July Parade. Eastwick Press file photo.

Ironically in 1920 the world was recovering from another pandemic and our parade was still part of the summer season here in the valley marking brighter days past and present. We are tossing around a few possible solutions that will allow the celebration to proceed albeit with some differences. These decisions will be made when the date is closer.

Until then design your floats, wear your masks and wash them mitts.
