Blooming Now
Yellow Trout Lily (Erythronium americanum) is a native spring wildflower blooming in our rich area woods. The common name of “trout” is because of its mottled leaves. It is another showy bloom frequently growing next to natural springs.

The flower is almost as large as last week’s Red Trillium–usually a couple of inches wide. You’ll notice that this flower has a visitor on its bloom. This plant has been used medicinally.
