Clobridge Is Gator Of The Year

The Sage Colleges’ department of athletics recently announced the recipients of the department’s annual awards.  Sage named senior Abbey Clobridge of Averill Park the 2019-2020 Women’s Tennis Gator of the Year.

Head tennis coach Tom Fashouer remarked, “I am so impressed by the improvement Abbey has made in her four years at Sage.” He continued, “She became our leader on and off the court.  As a fitting reward, she was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team at the very competitive first singles position.  She is going to be very difficult to replace and is so deserving of this award as our Gator of the Year!”

Clobridge wrapped up her career helping the program to one of its most successful seasons having earned a berth in the Empire 8 Tournament and posting a 10-4 record with a 4-2 record in Empire 8 action. She was honored as a 2019 Empire 8 First Team All-Star as well for her play in singles.

She was also picked as a selection to the 2019 Empire 8 Women’s Tennis Sportswoman of the Year Team.
