Berlin

4th Of July Parade Update

With great expectations the July 4th date approaches.

The annual parade steps off promptly at 11 am, with judging and staging beginning at 9 am at the Berlin Elementary School.

Our primary concerns are two-fold; We want to mark the day with the longstanding parade to remind all of us of the greatness of America, not only in our immediate area but in America in its entirety and do so as safely as possible for all of us.

The parade route will be the same as it has been for decades, which translates to close to 3.5 miles (counting both sides of the route), more than ample “frontage” for families to observe social distancing standards. Coupled with face masks when appropriate this should allow for good memories and images to be the only lasting impressions.

As in year’s past outstanding entrants will be acknowledged with not only sought after titles but with cash and prizes, bragging rights not being the least of the fun. Fire companies, bands, various groups have already committed to be part of the Roaring 20s themed extravaganza.

We are all excited to see how the creativity that has yet to disappoint will be presented this year (one can’t deny, thus far the 20s have certainly roared).

Looking forward to seeing another awesome display of patriotism and civic pride.

Be safe when you celebrate!

Your donations are appreciated and allow this tradition to continue.
