Village Officer And Town Supervisor Save A Life

by Doug La Rocque

Hoosick Falls Village Police Officer Cory Wagner was sitting in his patrol car last Thursday morning, June 11, when around 8:30 am he noticed a man collapsed at the corner of Wood Park Lane and Main Street. Officer Wagner immediately ran to his side and started CPR. He was soon joined by Town of Hoosick Supervisor Mark Surdam, and together they worked to revive the victim for about three minutes until Emergency Medical Service personnel arrived and took over.

Officer Wagner and Mr. Surdam’s efforts were successful, and the man was transported to a local hospital, where he is recovering.

Officer Wagner said his skills and training, “just took over.” He hopes to meet with the man whose life he helped save in the near future.
