Library Will Re-open In Phases

Submitted by the Stephentown Memorial Library

After 11 weeks of being closed to the public, the Stephentown Library will gradually begin to reopen. We have implemented a Phased Reopening Plan with reduced hours and we will start limited services on June 16. The physical building will still be closed to the public but we will begin “Curbside Pickup” services on June 16. The staff of SML will be working hard over the next few weeks to get caught up and ready to start this new service. Ideally we would like to be reopening with all services and normal hours reestablished, but that is not possible at this time.

The Stephentown Memorial Library

We are still excited to start getting patrons books, DVDs and other loans. We are implementing a gradual approach to reopening in order to keep our staff and patrons as safe as possible and to continue doing our part to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The library’s new temporary hours are as follows:

Tuesday and Thursday 3 to 6 pm, Wednesday noon to 3 pm, Friday 1 to 4 pm, and Saturday-10 am to noon.

We will return to our normal schedule at some point but this will depend on what happens with the pandemic.

Patrons will once again be able to request material from SML as well as other libraries in the Upper Hudson System that are open (some are still closed). We will also offer printer/fax service if items to be printed/faxed can be emailed to the library.

Please go to www.stephentownlibrary.org or our Facebook page to find out more details about Curbside Pickup as well as to read our Phased Reopening Plan. Any questions can also be emailed to Kim Roppolo at director@stephentownlibrary.org. We look forward to being able to start bringing our services back to our community.
