Meet The Flockers
If you see an ambulance pull up to your house and a team armed with pink flamingos jump out of it, don’t be alarmed, you have been flocked by a friend. The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad is currently using flamingos as a fundraiser. The THRS Flockers consists of Carol Hansleman, Renee St Hilaire, Bri Jones, Danielle St Hilaire, Jason Dupuis, Syd Miller and Deb Lohnes.

The plastic 3D pink flamingo was developed by Don Featherstone in 1957 in Leominster, MA for Union Products. The use of flamingos to flock ones yard began in Canada in 1989 and in the early 1990s in the USA. Flocks of lively birds would land in someone’s yard for birthdays or holidays. If you would like a flock of flamingos to land in your friend’s lawn for 5 days, please contact the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad by email at deb@thrsems.org or by phone at 518-256-8161. To flock a friend with 6 flamingos is a $10 donation and a flock of a dozen is a $20 donation. Put a smile on everyone’s face and paint the town with pink flamingos to benefit your local EMS First Responders.
