Town Is A Purple Heart Community
On July 13 the Hoosick Town Board officially declared the town to be a Purple Heart Community. Road signs designating Hoosick as a Purple Heart Town are now being installed.
Work to gather the names of town residents awarded the Purple Heart for wounds or death that occurred during military service began in January, and to date 173 names have been added to the list.

A special ceremony is planned for Friday, August 7 at 6 pm in Wood Park, sponsored by American Legion Post 40 and the Historical Society.
