Karen And Molly McGovern Fund 2020

We’ve all experienced challenges in our everyday lives due to the repercussions of COVID-19 and The Karen McGovern Memorial Volleyball Tournament is no exception. Unfortunately we are unable to have the Volleyball Tournament this year.

The Karen and Molly McGovern Fund has seen a decline in donations this year and as the Tournament has always been our greatest means of financial stability, this decline is affecting how we help people in this community. This year alone we have distributed over $30,000 to about 100 individuals. We are looking to the Community again to help us keep this fund strong so we can continue helping others in honor of Karen and Molly.

Saturday, September 12, would have been the 21st Annual Karen McGovern Volleyball Tournament. This year we invite you to attend our ever popular Chinese Auction and 50/50 Raffles on that date. As always this will be held at the Sandbar in Hoosick Falls. Auction items will be on display and tickets available for the Auction and our 50/50 Raffle from Noon until 2 pm.  All funds raised will benefit the Karen and Molly McGovern Fund which benefits families and individuals who are battling Cancer or other Long Term or Catastrophic illnesses. Please plan to come on down to keep the “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” theme alive and well in the Town of Hoosick. We are grateful once again to The Sandbar and Trish and Mike Bloomer for hosting this event. As always COVID-19 Rules and Regulations will be maintained, masks must be worn when not seated, Social distancing when up and about, and all regulations as regards to Bar and Restaurant protocol must be observed.

Financial contributions are the most direct way you can help. Checks can be made payable to Rural Rensselaer County Council for Health and Human Services (RRCCHHS) and mailed to

P.O. Box 132

Hoosick Falls, NY

Auction items are also welcome! Gift Baskets, Products, Gift Certificates/Cards are great items for our Auction.
