Dewstomper Golf Notes
Every Wednesday morning a group of guys, any where from 15-25 gather to play in the “dew.” With an approximate 8:00 start, there is a wide range of golfing abilities that show up. Using the a modified stableford system, 1 point for bogey, 2 points for a par, and 4 points for an eagle, and a handicap based on how you play, the pace of play is brisk. 2 hours is the anticipated pace of play. Bogey is the worst score you can take, so play keeps moving. All prizes paid out that day. This was the first week all summer that weather cancelled the dewstompers.
Monday Night Duffers League Playoff Picture
The top team from each half in each division move on to the playoffs, along with the next 2 teams with the most points in each division. In Flight A, Kevin Weeden and Peter Martin III won the first half. Rik Seiler and Larry Donovan have a solid lead in the second half and 2nd most points are in. Nick Diotte and Dave Jones have been at the top all year and have enough points to advance with the 3rd seed. The big matchup is defending champion Joe Gerwin and Jeff St Gelais vs Bob Shoemaker and Jack Daigneault. Joe and Jeff have a 3 point lead. In Flight B, Henry Rose and Garth Duclos are in by winning the first half. The second half is very tight. Chris Harrington, Gerry Herrington, Nick Pallo and Marsh Ogert are leading by 1 over Jeff Hull and Dale Dearstyne. It’s really a 2-team race for the 2nd half winner. The wild card is the tight race. The 2 second half leaders both have 175 pts. Tom Condon Sr and Keith Shannon have 174.5 points. Brian Holbritter and Tim Wiley have 173.5 points and Jeff Maynard and Darryl Lee have 172.5 points. Out of these 5 teams, only 3 teams will move on. Good Luck!!

In Division A, Matt Brownell and Josh Magisano will play Al Brock and Clint Brock Jr. After leading for most of the season and having their 9-match win streak snapped the previous week, Jacob Trinkle and Adam Fedler lost by 1 stroke to the best performance of the year from the whites by any team in any league. Frank Mulvihill and Kevin Weeden grossed 1-under par. Frank and Kevin combined for 13 pars and 4 birdies in their record performance. And Jacob and Adam only lost by 1 stroke!! In Division B, Dave Crossman and Tim Clarke will play Scott Hutton and Tom Bushee.
Life Notes
Sorry the article was so short. My family enjoyed one final vacation in Basin Bay. It was beautiful. Good luck to all those who face the uncertainty in the next few weeks as many have kids heading back to school. This too shall pass. Be Kind to others, you never know what they are going through or have been through.
