Parent conferences will be held on October 30 and November 6.
Casting Their Ballot
With the Presidential Election coming up, the School-Based Management (SBM) committee is trading in Halloween costume dress up this year for red, white, and blue dress up with Citizenship being the theme. Since September, the SBM committee has worked to create Citizenship Day, with emphasis on what it means to be a citizen in the United States of America while touching on general information about the Presidential Election. This will lead students up to the following Monday, November 2, the day before the election, where students will have a mock voting day. Information that was sent out to students who attend school remotely, so they can cast their absentee ballots, while students in the building cast their ballots, COVID-19 safely, with masks and six feet of distance apart, and sanitizing the polling spaces. Poll workers will fill in votes for students in need, count the votes, and help to maintain sanitation-just like the adults who will do the same the next day at Walter B Howard.
Students can expect a monthly spirit/dress-up day on Fridays for forgoing Halloween costumes this year.
Jr./Sr. High School Report
The days are full of virtual meetings and the music program has developed new software that allows students to record themselves, mixing the voices together to produce a virtual symphony.
As to when more chrome books might be available, all the district has heard so far is sometime in December.
As to winter sports, the Wasaren League superintendents plan to meet soon to make a decision.
