Dominguez Arraigned In Murder Of  Missing Man

Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that a sealed indictment was handed up Friday, October 23 for Joseph Dominguez, age 24, of Catskill. The indictment was unsealed that morning in front of the Hon. Jennifer Sober.

Dominguez was arraigned on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A felony, in the death of Michael McMahon of Troy. Dominguez pleaded not guilty. 

Michael McMahon was reported missing by friends on January 20. His body was later found in a wooded area in March in Coxsackie.

Assistant District Attorney Cheryl McDermott presented the case to the grand jury. 

“We are grateful that this lengthy investigation yielded an indictment, and are thankful for the cooperation of the witnesses that came forward to assist with the investigation,” said Mary Pat Donnelly, Rensselaer County District Attorney. 

No future court dates have been set.
