Catholic Charities Food Giveaway Comes To GLSP
The mass food giveaway takes place on Monday, November 9 at Grafton Lakes State Park, starting at 9:30 am. The program is sponsored by Catholic Charities Mobile Outreach Vehicle Extension program, in conjunction with the Regional Food Bank of Northeast New York, the Grafton Lakes State Park, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department, the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office, the Capital District Area Labor Federation and The Eastwick Press.
Available that day will be a variety of fresh vegetables, frozen chicken and pork, milk, eggs, bread and other items. Those who wish to receive food should enter the park’s main entrance on Route 2 in Grafton, following directions to the main parking lot. There, several stations will be set up so vehicles can drive up and food will be placed in your vehicles in a contactless manner. This program is absolutely free and open to anyone during this current pandemic.
We Need Some Help
To pull this off, volunteers are needed to assist in the packing and distribution of the food. Masks and gloves will be provided. Volunteers may also take a box of food items as needed.
