Spotted Beetle in Silk
Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) pods are open now revealing seeds hooked to silky tufts. A Spotted Cucumber Beetle (Diabrotica undecimpunctata) walks on the silk sparkling in the sunshine.
These beetles are native to North America but like to eat crops that humans favor like squash, cucumbers, beans, cotton and corn.
