Mark Fluery Passes
Well known for his racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway in his number 52 with neon green colors, Mark Fluery, just 62 years old, passed on November 18.
Mark raced at The Valley from the mid 1970s to the mid 1990s.” Mark won the 1977 Sportman and 1987 Modified division championships. He was also an underdog winner of the Mr. DIRT Track USA race in 1992. Fluery was the Lebanon Valley Pit Steward and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.
Fonda 200 To Pay $53,000 To Winner
After a challenging 2020 due to state-imposed COVID-19 regulations, Fonda Speedway will be back – stronger than ever – in 2021.
BD Motorsports Media LLC management team returns for its third season at the historic half-mile oval. The first on-track activity of 2021 is planned for Saturday, April 10 with an Open Practice session.
The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco continues to raise the bar for Northeast dirt modified racing. In date announcements confirmed on back-to-back days, the STSS has officially scheduled a pair of events paying $50,000-plus to win in the same season. The events will take place in two different states: Fonda Speedway in Fonda, and Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA.
The famed Fonda 200 weekend returns to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Thursday through Saturday, September 16-18, 2021, offering $53,000 to the race winner of the Modified event. Port Royal Speedway’s ‘Speed Showcase Weekend’ will be back October 14-16, 2021 with $50,000 going to the STSS Modified winner. The additional $3,000 from the winner’s share will be spread through the back half of the field.
Once again, Saturday night racing will be headlined by the Modified division competing for a minimum of $2,400 to win, $500 for 10th and $250 to take the green flag.
