Jered A. O’Dell

Grafton – Jered A. O’Dell, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Born in Grafton, he was the son of the late Eudella and William O’Dell Sr. Jered is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Catherine O’Dell. 

Jered was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during 1952-1954 in Las Cruces, New Mexico working with guided missiles. Jered was a microscopist for Norton Abrasive in Watervliet.

He then went on to be the owner of Jered’s Machine Shop in Grafton and held two patents on components on the JeriTrac.

Jered was an active member and trustee of the Mountain Chapel Church in Grafton for many years. He graduated from Morrisville Technical College in 1952 where he studied watchmaking. 

In addition to his wife, Jered is survived by his children, Larry O’Dell (Lecia), Wendy Bell (Tom), Sandy O’Dell (Dawn) and Randy O’Dell (Cece). He will also be missed by his five grandchildren; Kirk O’Dell, Kelsey O’Dell, Emily Bell, Skyler O’Malley and Ronen O’Dell. 

Jered is also survived by his siblings; Mary Smith and Theron O’Dell. 

He is predeceased by his siblings Rev. William O’Dell Jr., Lucy O’Dell and Dawn Klaus. Services have already taken place.
