Eastern Teaberry (Gaultheria procumbens) is native to the eastern United States.It grows in forests, but produces flowers mostly in sunlight.
Its red fruit can be seen now from the Long Pond Trail in Grafton Lakes State Park, where this photo was taken. The plant has been used for medicinal purposes and is consumed by wildlife.
