Threeleaf Goldthread (Coptis trifolia) is a native evergreen plant that likes to grow in forested wet areas, often with mosses. When it blooms in summer, it has one small delicate white flower. Its common name refers to its thread-like yellow root that was once chewed for canker sores.
It is also commonly called Canker Root.
