High School Bowlers Begin Virtual Matches

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Hoosick Falls and Berlin bowling teams opened a new, virtual, Wasaren Bowling season.

Due to COVID restrictions this season, the teams will be competing without ever leaving their own bowling centers. 

The traditional 3 games will still be bowled, and then the scores will be compared after to determine the winner of each game (worth 1 point) and total (worth 2 points). In some circumstances, these games may not even be bowled on the same day, as the following Berlin vs Hoosick Falls match. Most importantly, competition has resumed.

HF 5, Berlin 0

January (Berlin) 13 / HF 14. In the opening match for both teams, the Panthers won by a score of 5-0, finishing with 3637 pins to Berlin’s 2620.

Junior Brody Mullen 237-641 led Hoosick Falls. Kasey Billert 189-537 and Daniel Hunt 180-493 led Berlin.

Other scores for Hoosick Falls included Erin McCart 235-625, Colin King 241-609, Kendra Marshall 233-595, Payton Merrills 225-593, Bradley Senecal 236-586, Ryan Maxon 203-583, Ziena Hurlburt 204-556, Riley Hayes 201-518, Ethan Yonconish 172 and Troy McCart 139.

Berlin’s Jordanne Brazie shot a nice 168 and Logan Dunlop finished his day with a strong 162.

HF 5, Hoosic Valley 0

Bowling on Saturday January 16, the Hoosick Falls bowling team continued its season with a 5-0 victory over Hoosic Valley. Bowling at the Barbecue Recreation, Hoosick Falls finished with a total of 3702 pins to Hoosic Valley’s 2096. Hoosick Valley bowled at Hilltop Bowl on Tuesday January 19. Junior Colin King 279-697 and senior Erin McCart 247-693 led the way for the Panthers, while Leigha Henkel 226-573 led Hoosic Valley.  Other top scores for Hoosick Falls included Payton Merrills 233-640, Brody Mullen 279-625, Riley Hayes 237-609, Bradley Senecal 222-582, Ryan Maxon 201-579, Ethan Yonconish 216, Ziena Hurlburt 206, Kendra Marshall 175 and Troy McCart 163.  The Panthers will continue their season with matches against Mechanicville and Saratoga Catholic this week.
