Murder/Suicide in Schodack

The call came in at approximately 9:30 pm on January 13. New York State Police, Rensselaer County Sheriff, Nassau Police, and Schodack police responded to Angelo Avenue in Schodack to find a grim scene
They discovered three victims deceased, and one victim was transported by ambulance to Albany Medical Center with a non-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. News sources say that a man shot his wife, daughter, and mother-in-law and then turned the gun on himself.
Schodack Police chief, John Hourigan said, “We are not seeking suspects at this time.”The Town of Schodack website posted, “We are horrified and saddened by the events of lastnight.” They also stated that “
Hourigan also stated that the investigation is only in its preliminary stages and that interviews of neighbors, family, friends, coworkers need to be completed. The Town also released information “Out of respect for the victims and their families” and to allow the responding Police agencies time to assess what happened and conduct their investigations thoroughly, they will not comment or post any further information “that Rensselaer County is offering assistance to those affected by the tragedy”
