Grafton Lakes State Park will host a snowmobile ride led by the GraftonTrail Blazers on Saturday, February 20. Pre-registration is required. Spots are limited. The event is free of charge and trail rides will start at 10 am and leave every 15 minutes.
The guided group ride will travel approximately 65 miles round trip from Grafton Lakes State park to Cherry Plain State Park and back. The ride will take approximately 4 to 5 hours and will travel through trails maintained by The Grafton Trail Blazers and their neighboring club, Black River Raiders. The trails consist of old logging roads and seasonal roads that are closed to automotive traffic during winter months. Each group will be led by an experienced rider who is knowledgeable of the trails.
All participants should arrive 30 minutes early with a full tank of fuel and a snowmobile that is registered and insured in NY State. As snowmobilers we all know the weather can be cold, so please dress appropriately. As always when riding on the trails, you are responsible for your own sled and equipment.
Pre-registration is required. To register, please email graftonlakesadmin@parks.ny.gov no later than 4 pm on Wednesday, February 17. Please be sure to include the date and program title in your email. For example, “Snowmobile Ride 2/20.” Include how many people in your group will be attending, first and last names, and phone numbers.
Please take note of the following COVID-19 safety protocols and precautions. Group sizes will be limited. Masks will be required for all participants during registration. Registrants will agree to not attend if they are experiencing any symptoms, have been in contact with someone who recently tested positive or is suspected to have COVID-19.
