More Than 3 Years After Flood, Repairs Are Underway At ICC
Fr. Tom Zelker talked a minute with Keith Potten who was busy smoothing over a portion of the test area of the newly installed ceiling board in some of the rounded sections of Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. The testing seemed to be going well. Putting ceiling board over the current ceiling and bolting it to the wooden beams above has turned out to be the most financially feasible way to go, said Fr. Tom. Paint chips from fallen portions of the ceiling will be used to match the current colors.

Centimark Roofing, which has already repaired wind storm damage and performed temporary fixes to other leaks in the church roof is scheduled to replace the church roof, make gutter repairs and do the steeple restoration in April, then the church ceiling work can begin in earnest.
Fr. Tom pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has raised havoc with all the repair work, from limiting the number of people who can work in a space to the availability of materials to complete the work. This hindered many of the efforts to restore the church sub-basement, meeting hall and kitchen.
