Birdfeeder Beauty
Last week, you saw the White-breasted Nuthatch and this week is another Nuthatch although with a red belly called the Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis).Nuthatch was derived from “nuthack”, which refers to the bird’s practice of wedging nuts into bark cracks and hacking them until they open.
This songbird was seen during the Great Backyard Bird Count on a birdfeeder at Grafton Lakes State Park.
