Marguerite A. Rice

Hoosick Falls – Marguerite Ann “Peg” (Dooley) Rice, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. Peg was born on September 16, 1936, daughter of Harold and Lida (Maynard) Dooley. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. “Bob” Rice for fifty years.

Peg cherished time with family and took pride in her flower gardening and cooking abilities. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls.

Survivors include four children: Tony (Elva) Rice of Hoosick Falls, John (Katherine O’Leary) Rice of Oswego, NY, Mark (Debbie) Rice of Pittstown, NY, and Sheila (Scott) Mather of Bennington, VT; four grandchildren: Nicole, Holly, Mackenzie and Jack Rice: sister Deborah Spiak; brothers Kenneth and Gary (Donna) Dooley; cousins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Bob, Peg was predeceased by a sister Gladys Ryan and brothers Carl, Francis, Harold (Bud) and Ronald Dooley.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Thursday March 25 from the Immaculate Conception Church (Church Hall), on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial was at the Gerald B.H. Solomon/Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund, Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Parkinson’s Foundation, NY & NJ Chapter through the Mahar Funeral Home at 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090.
