Pittsfield Woman Busted
With Large Amount Of Fentanyl

On March 13 the New York State Police from the New Lebanon barracks arrested Brenda L. McCartney, age 39, of Pittsfield for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree including one count with intent to sell, a class B felony, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.

At approximately 1:20 pm Troopers in New Lebanon conducted a traffic stop of a 2014 Chrysler 200 for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on U.S. Route 20.

Investigation discovered McCartney was in possession of approximately 49 grams of fentanyl, small amounts of crack-cocaine, opiates, and naloxone, as well as equipment used to measure illicit drugs for sale. 

McCartney was arraigned in the town of New Lebanon Court and released on her own recognizance. McCartney is scheduled to next appear before the court on April 15.
