Candidates Declare For Town Board Seats
The general election this fall will see two incumbent town board members seeking re-election against two political newcomers. Republicans Gordon (Gordie) Christian and Mark Balistreri are attempting to win another 4-year term against Brunswick Democratic Chair Jennifer Mann and candidate Paul Buehler.
In their press release announcing their candidacy, Mr. Buehler mentions his 30 years of experience in child welfare and his experience improving communities for all residents while managing multi-million dollar budgets. He earned his MSW from USC and is a third generation Brunswick resident. Dr. Mann has a PhD from Princeton University specializing in ancient and modern political theory, but she and her husband, along with their two children, are currently homesteading an old farm in the town, and say they are here to stay. Dr. Mann has created and maintained a local website to help residents and town businesses through the pandemic. It is BrunswickCOVID-19.com.
Touting Their Accomplishments
Councilman Christian also serves as Deputy Supervisor and is the longtime owner and operator of Christian’s Eagle Mills Garage. He and Councilman Balistreri say they are committed to continuing transparency in town government, that they have joined their fellow board members in keeping taxes as low as possible in the town and support well thought out development. Speaking with The Eastwick Press, Mr. Balistreri highlighted their commitment to seniors and veterans as well.
The general election this year is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2.
