Saturday, March 27. With most of this game played in the Schuylerville end of the field, it seemed only a matter of time before the Panthers would hit the goal wood with the ball. After that not happening for three quarters, Schuylerville took the ball down to the Panther end and, as seems to happen quite often when a team seems overpowered, scored its own goal to take the lead at the 12:50 mark of the fourth quarter. Hoosick Falls hadn’t scored for the first 47 minutes so with thirteen minutes left it was questionable whether the Panthers could pull a goal out of their hat. So the Panthers, try as they might, couldn’t find the goal. Finally, with under a minute to go, Emma McCart got ahead of the defense and, after colliding with the Schuylerville goalie twenty feet in front of the goal, let go a shot that found the mark and cracked off the goal with 34 seconds left in the game, sending it into overtime. The Panthers didn’t fool around in the OT, with McCart once again getting the ball past the goalie with 6:05 left. The saves showed the difference in the offensive firepower of the game; Hoosick Falls Aleah Stowell and Adrianna Sacilowski combined had no saves while Schuylerville’s Lizze Goodspeed had 15 saves.
